walking each other home
When a group of us set out to establish Pacific Northwest Meditation, it came from a place of a deep longing to practice in a community that embodies openness, and challenges structures and systems that are obstructions to awakening. We knew it would require tremendous effort to go against the stream; swimming back to what lies at the core of the Buddha’s teachings--not conforming, not settling for mediocracy, but questioning everything to arrive at our own understanding of the truth of how things really are. We commit ourselves to going against the stream of suffering and ignorance. So as we build this new space with fresh eyes and healing hearts, we invite you to join us in discovering this new paradigm for what it means to be the beloved sangha (a community of liked-minded practitioners). We operate on the level of sameness. We practice deep listening. We honor and respect differences.
When we are not okay with the status quo, how do we rebel, as practitioners of peace? What is the art of insubordination that will lead to positive, wholesome results that will in turn benefit the many? Some might think that meditation makes us passive. Meditation is love and right action. When we come to know this practice for ourselves, our practice reveals to us how to engage with courage, with confidence, with harmony, and with effectiveness.

Guided Meditations | Daily Reminders to Stay Awake | Group Reflections
Wake Up Together is an online sitting group that was established in 2020 by Trina and partners. Our mission is to help support individuals in maintaining a solid meditation practice through practicing in an accessible and open-minded community. We meet every day, virtually. While we are rooted in the Vipassana-Insight tradition, our approach is also inclusive in all Buddhist meditation practices such as anapanasati (mindfulness of the breath), metta (loving-kindness), body scans, tonglen, and others. The space that our meditators come to know is one that expresses itself as welcoming and embodying all views and interpretations of spirituality.
We hold the commitment to remain humble and vulnerable in our role as the guides and door openers to the individual's inner journey. We aspire to facilitate the experience for participants to attain a sense of groundedness, clear-seeing and the understanding of the mind, and [no] self through the practices, the guidance, the teachings, and the reflections offered in group sharing.
To solidify this spiritual aspiration is to make a commitment to sit in community with a predetermined frequency or as often as you can.

Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.
