What to expect
This retreat is a special occasion to deepen connections and spiritual practice with an in-person community. Participants will experience a lifestyle similar to that of monks or nuns in training. The retreat will include periods of silence, multiple daily meditations, and various practices such as sitting and walking meditation, Metta Meditation, and the use of a mindfulness bell.
The daily schedule includes a wake-up bell at 5:30 AM, with the program starting at 6:00 AM and ending around 9 PM. Here is the tentative schedule for the retreat. It is subject to change.
Participants should wear comfortable, loose clothing and bring a coat, extra blanket, rain gear, and gloves for garden work. When the mindfulness bell rings, take three deep breaths and treat all beings with respect, maintaining silence during designated periods. Alcohol and recreational drugs are prohibited, and meals will consist of simple monastic fare, with additional food allowed if prepared minimally.
Interested participants should complete the registration below. Each attendee is required to make a $150 donation. This donation can be paid through the Temple's website. Ensure your registration and payment are completed on time to secure your spot.
